Serving vs Earning : What’s Facebook take on this?

By October 14, 2023No Comments

Ever felt like you’re at a crossroads in business?

Every entrepreneur’s been there.

Staring at that fork in the road, pondering: Am I here to fill pockets or hearts?

And I ain’t talking fairytales here.

Now, before y’all jump the gun, I ain’t saying profit’s the villain in our story.

No siree!

Heck, I believe customers don’t mind parting with a few extra bucks if they feel they’re scoring big on the value front.

It’s a give-and-take, ya know?

So, let’s chat about today’s mega-businesses.

Are they really flexing their tech muscles, brand power, and all that jazz to win hearts?

Or is it all a grand scheme to have us open our wallets a tad wider?

Pull up a chair, and let’s chew on one of the juiciest examples out there: Facebook (or as it’s now jazzed up to be, Meta).

Remember when Facebook gave its News Feed a makeover?

Seemed harmless, like changing the curtains.

But for businesses?

It was more like the floor got pulled out from under ’em.

Suddenly, posts from your cousin Bob were all over, but the local mom-n-pop store?

Lost in some digital Bermuda Triangle unless they coughed up for ads.

Now, I ain’t throwing shade, but it kinda seemed like a crafty move to make businesses play ball (and pay up) in the ad game. All in the name of “user experience”?

You be the judge.

And it ain’t just Facebook.

Ever tried unsubscribing from some services?

Feels like escaping a digital labyrinth.

And don’t get me started on those “Act Fast! A gazillion folks are looking at this right now!” alerts. Seriously?

So here’s the deal.

Businesses, don’t lose sight of what got you off the ground.

That fire in the belly to serve, to make a difference?

That’s your compass. ‘Cause companies that shift gears to serve numero uno?

They might just find themselves dancing solo.

Catch y’all on the flip side 🙂
